The horses are the stars at Normanby Riding School and we love every one of them! Each has his or her own character; this is what some of the children who ride them regularly have to say:

"Bertie is a 16.2hh Hanoverian Liver Chestnut. He has a cheeky character, a big personality and loves attention. He has had an interesting past eventing and show jumping and is a true gentleman."

"Clive is a gorgeous blue and white 8 year old gelding. He is laid back and friendly. Clive loves to please his rider and always tries very hard. He's really playful and a little baby, a real sweetheart!"

"Derek is a handsome 10 year old tri coloured gelding. He is new to the yard but has settled in well. Derek has enormous character and gives a feeling of security when he's ridden."

"Fergie is a 6 year old piebald gelding. He is kind, caring and loving but can be a little bit cheeky when he wants to be. Riding Fergie is a pleasure and is recommended to everyone!"

"Meg is a 5 year old grey mare. She loves to race the other ponies and always wants to be the centre of attention. She loves little treats and has a great personality!"

"Merry is a very friendly 12hh Grey Welsh Pony. She likes trekking around the park and loves to jump. Merry is full of character & will often pick up her feed bucket if she is still hungry at lunchtime!"

"Minnie is an Exmoor Mare. She is 9 years old and has a very good appetite. Minnie likes to be the centre of attention and when she is turned out into the field she often entertains us with her famous Minnie Roll!"

"Monty is a 17 hh hunter type piebald with a moustache) gelding, who loves attention and is slow and steady. Known as the BFG of the yard, he is 7 years old, a fantastic hacking horse. Everybody loves him."

"Prancer is an ex pony club pony and stands 12.2 hh. He likes to go out on hacks around the deer park and loves jumping in the school. He is a bit of an attention seeker and gives pony kisses!"

"Silver is 13.3 hh Blue Roan with a long mane and tail. She is 12 years old and very good natured, but she can be quite fast! Silver has her place in the hay at night, and she is always on the lookout for food! "

"Surprise is a 14 year old bay roan gelding standing 12.2 hh. He is slow and steady but loves to jump. He also loves his food and is always good natured. If you ride him you will love him!"

"Tutti-Frutti is a little strawberry Roan pony standing just 11 hh. He is 14 years old. He doesn't like to be crowded, but he is a cheeky and speedy little pony!"
